Along with the 40+ rooms, it also has a heated underground car park, helicopter pad, cinema, bowling alley and a 70 metre long trophy room..I suppose he could afford it though after cutting back on the amount he paid some of the stonemasons, read more about that here.
long live Commodore…
Commodore, the company that brought us greats such as the Commodore 64 and the Amiga is back…this time though the name is being used to sell a range of gaming PC’s. A bit of a shame really, as commodore produced some ground breaking hardware in the 80′s and 90′s. My original Amiga, plus an A500 and A1200 are still up in the loft somewhere – the A1200 is still fully capable of running Cannon Fodder!
The new range of PC’s were launched at the Cebit trade show in Germany…some pictures can be seen on the BBC web site here

many happy hours were spent playing games, attemping to learn amiga basic, blitz basic and AREXX on one of the above machines..! I even remember writing up my final year project using CygnusEd, staying up all night typing away waiting until the morning to print out on my noisy 24 pin dot matrix printer! It took me until around 1995ish before I went over to the dark side and built my own PC!
buy it…you know you want to!
remember the pink panther TV show…? Remember the car used in the opening credits..? Well, now is your chance to buy it. Have a look on ebay and see how much the bidding has got to…it was over £15,000 last time I checked!

then there were only 299…
The Bugatti Veyron…an £800,000 super car. The manufacturers plan to make only 300 of these, with the first 70 already having been ordered. Now though, it looks like they will have to add another to the production line as someone has managed to total one, read the story on the BBC’s website…

lunar eclipse
took these last night during the lunar eclipse…

In case you missed it…the next visible lunar eclipse in the UK is 21st Feb 2008…although it will be at 3.00am. If you can’t wait that long, then get yourself to New Zealand for August the 28th!
TV’s own Nick Knowles
Walked into the rehearsal room last night only to be greeted by non other than Nick Knowles, from DIY SOS fame no less, and a film crew!
The band I am a member of, The Anchormen Ensemble, is due to appear on a new BBC prime time TV show, Who’s Wedding Is It Anyway.
Apparently the chap getting married was involved some years ago with Conquest Alliance, along with the best man. After finding out this info the producers of the show wanted to get something along the lines of Conquest to play at their reception. The best man knowing of us after seeing us play at Conquests reunion gig in November last year pointed them in our direction, the link being that quite a few of the members are ex. Conquest members…
We are due to play at the Bride and Grooms reception, filming for which will be done this Saturday…I’ll hopefully have some pictures etc. to post afterwards. In the meantime, check out the grainy mobile phone snap I took of Nick…
